15 Awesome Travel Hacks You Need To Know

1. Keep power cords and headphones in an old sunglasses case to stop them getting tangled.

2. Browse for flights and hotels in an incognito tab or enable private browsing - some travel sites track your visits and raise their prices accordingly. Swines.

3. Scan copies of your passport and any other important documents and email them to yourself in case of any emergencies. Leave a copy with a family member/friend too - just to be on the safe side.

4. Store your grips/bobby pins in a Tic Tac container to save from losing them. I've even started doing this at home; does anyone else have a bobby pin fairy that makes them all magically disappear?

5. Pre-pack the following in-flight basics: toothbrush and toothpaste, hand sanitiser, cleansing wipes, lip balm, hydrating moisturiser (with SPF), eyeglasses/sunglasses.

6. Always travel with a scarf - you can use it traditionally, as a blanket or even to block out light when you're trying to get some sleep.

7. Don't be an obvious tourist when it comes to handling money. Carry your money quietly and keep as little on you as possible.

8. Stash your pretty earrings on a button.

9. Mark your luggage as Fragile. This is a classic trick which ensures that your baggage is handled correctly and in most cases, your bag will be stored at the top and will therefore be one of the first bags to be released.

10. Use websites like AirBnB for a more authentic travel experience; you can rent private rooms/homes from home owners and they often provide better accommodation than hotels.

11. Pop your phone into a sandwich bag when travelling to the beach. It will prevent it from being damaged by the sand/sea and you can still use the touchscreen!

12. Take some extra pants on the plane with you - just in case your luggage gets lost.

13. Hit the gym before you fly - you'll feel more relaxed and chances are, you'll fall asleep more easily.

14. Take minimal, multi-use beauty products. I don't tend to wear make-up when I'm travelling but if I do, I don't want to spend quality travel time applying it. Lip and cheek stains are a saviour and if you fancy a little day to night transitioning? Use your mascara as an eyeliner.

15. Pack your underwear and socks in your shoes to save space.
