Monday Musings | 06.10.2014

Boy am I glad to be home. Sometimes Monday's really really suck. You know the ones; you've woken up to the sound of the rain on your window, you're snuggled up in that toasty, fresh bedding and all of a sudden you realise it's 8.30am on a Monday morning and you have approximately -15 minutes to get dressed and haul ass. Today was that kind of Monday. Anyway, here is something I have been enjoying.

Walking: I'm becoming quite the Rambler these days. I've always loved being outdoors and I think walking is great but lately I've just fallen in love with it. I don't know exactly what it is, maybe it's the sense of freedom, the smell of the trees, seeking out adventure or just the feeling of the air sinking into my lungs. I'd probably say it's all of the above.

Kurt and I took a little hike around Willingham Woods at the weekend, a lovely little woods just close to Market Rasen where there are plenty of trails for beginners and harder courses for those who like a challenge. We didn't follow the trails and instead took the paths which appealed to us most. It was raining and it was perfect.

We are taking part in the High Peak Winter Hike 2014 for the British Heart Foundation in November which will see us trekking 17 miles across the Peak District for charity, so we are trying to get in as much practice as we can before the big hike. You can find more information about the event here.

I know I dropped the whole Monday sucks moan-a-thon but this picture pleases me a lot.

    1. It's great for the mind isn't it. I'm really looking forward to doing it for Charity, I know it's going to be hard work but knowing that we've raised money will be so worth it. Thank you :) xx

  9. I've not been on a good walk in so long, there isn't exactly anywhere nice in Leeds city centre where I live to walk! I love the shot you've taken of the forest!

    1. That's the thing with living in a city isn't it, it's harder to find pretty places to walk. This might help you - http://casualramblers.co.uk/wyorks/leeds/ xx

  13. Walking in nice and calming surroundings is so therapeutic (that forest is beautiful)! I especially love it in the autumn when the leaves are changing and everything is crispy :)
