Eärendil - New Blog/Where Have I Been?!

I almost feel weird writing this after being away for three months, I don't even have an excuse for it. I just decided to focus more on my freelance writing and with that came less time to think about blogging, but I'm back and things have changed.

The first and most obvious change is my blog name; a decision that wasn't easily made but one I feel will grow with me and hopefully suit my writing and interests better. I made this blog when I was 18 and now as a 24 year old, I'm completely different. Yes, I still love beauty and fashion, but it's not my main or only interest

I want this blog to be a collective mash up of all of my interests and I feel that the name 'Beauty and a Blogger' suggests that my blog is just about beauty, which was great six years ago but now that I've grown into the person I am today (deep, I know), I want it to reflect my personality. So why Eärendil you're asking, and what the hell does it mean?

Eärendil means 'Lover of the Sea' in the fictional language of Quenya, which was invented by J R R Tolkein. Eärendil is also a fictional character from Tolkein's Middle Earth Legendarium but for the purposes of my blog, the name reflects the former meaning.

I'm a sea child - I've lived by the sea my whole life and I couldn't imagine living in a place without it right on my doorstep. It really holds a special place in my heart and I think Eärendil reflects that perfectly, and lets face it, it sounds better than 'Lover of the Sea'.

So I'm going to wrap it up and hopefully this will be the start of something really awesome - I hope you all stick around and enjoy some of the new topics which will be featured on this blog, as well as beauty and fashion posts too, I'm not completely abandoning them. Let me know what you guys think of the new header too!

You will need to resubscribe to my blog if you want to see my blog in your feed, you can do this here or on Bloglovin.
