Monthly Favourites | April

It might be a little premature to be cracking out the monthly favourites but I've been loving the majority of these products since the middle of March so I thought it could be an exception.

Lets talk about the L'Oreal kids Sweet Pear Tangle Tamer, I'm pretty sure the majority of people will remember this from their childhood, I seem to remember it being a staple for my mum when we went abroad and with good reason! I know this is targeted at kids (why do they get the best of everything!?) but it actually works and makes your hair smell like pears at the same time, no complaints here. I finally took the plunge and bought the Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturiser and I'm so pissed that I didn't buy it sooner, I'm not sure what I was expecting but it definitely wasn't this - it's beyond perfect. The coverage is fairly sheer but buildable, it offers a healthy glow without being greasy and best of all it lasts the whole day, this little tube of awesomeness is definitely going to be an expensive habit. My favourite eyeshadow of the month comes from MAC and is in the shade Antiqued, a beautiful reddish copper shade that looks perfect teamed with my statutory browns - you can find lots of swatches online.

I think the product I'm most surprised with is the Garnier Oil Beauty Nourishing Lotion and not because I thought it would be crap but because I didn't expect it to be any different to my other gazillion moisturisers, I was wrong. It makes my skin look so healthy, I even got a compliment on how good my legs looked and I put it all down to this. My one gripe is that it takes a little while to sink into the skin so definitely bear that in mind if you're in a rush. I picked up the Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil in Brownie Points after reading countless rave reviews and so far I'm really impressed. It took a little while to get used to as I've always been a powder girl but the results are really natural and long-lasting. The Seventeen Skin Wow 3 Way Highlighter was an impulse buy whilst bored snooping around Boots. Personally, I would only use this for the one purpose I bought it and that's as a typical liquid highlighter. It's fairly iridescent so I can't see how it would disguise pores as a primer, as a highlighter however and used sparingly, it really does look lovely.

Finally, my most worn perfume of the month is the Thierry Mugler Alien EDT it's definitely an acquired scent but if you find the original version a little much then this try this one as it's a tad lighter. The nail polish of the month comes from the Barry M Gelly line in the shade Huckleberry, pastels for spring... ground-breaking I know. I've spoken about the Caudalie Beauty Elixr before so I won't go into it in detail. I only use this when my skins looking particularly dull for a little pick me up, unfortunately I can't use this on the daily as my skin would have a meltdown - it's strongly fragranced so beware of that if like me, you have sensitive skin.

  6. The Thierry Mugler Alien bottle is so nice! I hope they change the scent of the Caudalie Beauty Elixr, it really lets it down.
