The Bucket List - Competition

We all have a bucket list right? But in reality the majority of us don't have the resources to carry out all of the amazing experiences that we wish to do in life. Well, certainly not some of them. MoneySupermarket are currently running a competition where one lucky person will win £1,000 (or £2,000 if more than 50 people enter) to put towards ticking off an item on your bucket list. There will also be four runner up prizes of £50 each to spend on your list. All the details can be found here. Entering is super easy. All you have to do is come up with one 'budget' and one 'extravagant' bucket list item and then write a little about each. Anyway enough about the rules and onto my entry.

Something I have always wanted to learn to do properly is surf. I've always loved the sea and I've lived by the seaside my whole life. There is just something incredibly free about it and being able to surf would be incredible. One of my bucket list items is to travel down to South Coast of England in a battered old pick up truck with my boy and friends and have an amazing weekend surfing, camping and just living freely. I'm a complete hippy at heart and this is something I will definitely be doing in my life. If I turned out to be any good at it, I think I would take to the waves in my hometown. I think the only thing stopping me doing this is owning a Board.

Extravagant Bucket List

I think I might include two in this category as my first choice is completely unrealistic. I know MoneySupermarket said to choose something where money was no object but I'm fairly sure I won't be coming into £250,000 any time soon. So my extravagant choice is to go to the Moon with Virgin Galactic. I did say it was unrealistic. The reason I can't do this is pretty self explanatory but I think to do it would be my absolute dream. I find space extremely interesting and to see another planet would quite frankly be incredible. It would just be a dream come true, a once in a lifetime experience. If by any insane chance you can afford it then details are here and since it's most likely you cannot, have a look anyway, it's reaaaally cool.

Now onto something more realistic that I could actually put the money towards if I was lucky enough to win. One of the things I have always wanted to do is to travel to Iceland and visit the Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa. These hot springs reach temperatures of 37-39°C and I just think it would be the coolest, especially in the winter. Apparently the water contains mineral salts, silica and blue green algae that help to cleanse and exfoliate the skin, leaving it feeling nourished and revitalized. It basically sounds like you'd be bathing in heaven. I would also love to stay in the Blue Lagoon Clinic Hotel if I ever went. Details can be found here if anyone is interested.

The competition specifies that you need to tag three other people whose bucket lists you would like to read and so here is mine. I hope you enjoyed my bucket list!

2. Megan from Thumbelina Lillie

  2. Definitely do the surfing trip, some of my favourite weekends of all time have been spent in Cornwall, days out surfing (or trying to surf in my case!) and happy nights afterwards.
